Exclamation! London Planetree has forest green foliage throughout the season. The large serrated lobed leaves turn coppery-bronze in fall. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. The mottled silver bark is extremely showy and adds significant winter interest.
It is a deciduous tree with a distinctive and refined pyramidal form. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other landscape plants with finer foliage. This tree will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. It is a good choice for attracting squirrels to your yard, but is not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone in favor of tastier treats.

A spectacular spring bloomer, with very showy pink to purple flowers held tightly on bare branches in early spring; somewhat coarse heart-shaped leaves; rivals any small ornamental tree for specimen use in the home landscape

A great small tree prized for its abundance of showy white flowers in spring and consistently beautiful fall colors; a great three-season shade tree for small landscapes

A beautifully pyramidal shade tree with interestingly shaped leaves that turn red, purple and yellow in fall; somewhat particular about growing conditions; fruit is spiny and can be somewhat messy, use where this will not be a problem

A picturesque specimen tree featuring gracefully weeping golden branches, stunning when overhanging water; needs plenty of wide open space to achieve its best form; tends to drop branchlets, aggressive root system, so do not plant near homes
