Botanical Name: Helleborus x glandorfensis ‘Merlin’
Height: 12-24″
Width: 12-24″
Exposure: Part Sun to Shade
Flower Time: Early Spring
Flower Color: Light to Dark Pink
Usage: Borders, Perennial Gardens, and Containers.

Outward-facing, pale pink flowers transition to rose, then mature to a rich cranberry color. Strikingly dark foliage and stems are tough, handsome and deer resistant. Compact size is ideal for the front of a shady border, patio container or as a potted gift.  Hellebores are the harbingers of spring, blooming for six weeks or more beginning in late winter. They are often flowering during the Christian season of Lent, from which they get their common name, Lenten Rose. This is the perfect plant for naturalizing in moist, woodland areas where its extensive root system will spread as far as it is allowed. They are low maintenance and easy to grow.  Avoid planting in areas with dry soils and in full sun.  They prefer dappled shade with average soil moisture.
