This larger spreading crabapple was discovered as a chance seedling at Arnold Arboretum around 1950 and was named after Donald Wyman who served as the horticulturist for Arnold Arboretum.  This beautiful crabapple has fragrant white flowers that are follow by bright red crabapples that are persistent and stay on the tree well into winter.  Birds are attracted to the tasty fruit.
