Electric Love® Weigela is draped in stunning clusters of red bell-shaped flowers along the branches from mid spring to late summer. It has attractive plum purple foliage with hints of black throughout the season. The serrated pointy leaves are highly ornamental but do not develop any appreciable fall color. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.
Electric Love® Weigela is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a shapely form and gracefully arching branches. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other landscape plants with finer foliage.
This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers. It is a good choice for attracting hummingbirds to your yard.
