Tiger Eyes Sumac is primarily valued in the landscape or garden for its characteristic tiered habit of growth. It has gold deciduous foliage which emerges chartreuse in spring. The deeply cut ferny pinnately compound leaves turn an outstanding orange in the fall.

It is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a stunning habit of growth which features almost oriental horizontally-tiered branches. It lends an extremely fine and delicate texture to the landscape composition which can make it a great accent feature on this basis alone. This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
