A more compact, spire-like cultivar, with rich blue needles; more densely branched and fuller than the species; very tough and adaptable, makes a wonderful vertical accent for smaller home landscapes, ideal as a windbreak

Skinny Blue Genes Black Hills Spruce is primarily valued in the landscape for its distinctively pyramidal habit of growth. It has attractive powder blue-variegated silvery blue foliage with hints of grayish green. The needles are highly ornamental and remain silvery blue throughout the winter. The smooth gray bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape.
It is a dense evergreen tree with a strong central leader and a distinctive and refined pyramidal form. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other landscape plants with less refined foliage. This is a relatively low maintenance tree. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended to only trim back the new growth of the current season, other than to remove any dieback. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats.

A stunning accent shrub with gracefully arching and weeping branches, a twisted trunk and very showy pink to purple flowers held tightly on bare branches in early spring, curious heart-shaped leaves; an incredible garden accent, especially when in bloom

This stately evergreen has nice blue-green foliage that hugs the trunk, sweeping downward to create a fantastic impression; prefers sun or light shade and rich moist soil but is adaptable; the perfect accent tree for defining lawn areas or walkways
