Double Play Doozie® Spirea features showy clusters of red flowers with lavender overtones at the ends of the branches from mid spring to late summer. It has light green foliage with hints of coppery-bronze which emerges burgundy in spring. The serrated pointy leaves turn an outstanding brick red in the fall. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.
Double Play Doozie® Spirea is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with a more or less rounded form. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other landscape plants with less refined foliage.
This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
