Sweet Cherry Tea Ninebark is a smaller, somewhat compact deciduous shrub grown primarily for it’s foliage. Feathery leaves emerge in spring as a cherry red and age to a deep purple. It also has cute clusters of light pink flowers. Unlike most ninebark varities, Sweet Cherry Tea will bloom twice: once in spring and again in mid summer.
A very winter hardy shrub, Sweet Cherry Tea is also not picky about planting site, tolerant of most soils, though it will have the best color in full sun. It will work well as a sunny hedge or screening plant, filling in a small area with poor soil, or even as a filler in a large container planting.
