An upright, pyramidal evergreen which eventually becomes a large shrub, makes a great accent or articulation plant; interesting bluish-green needle-like foliage, quite sharp; a very versatile landscape plant, needs full sun.

Iowa Juniper has bluish-green foliage which emerges steel blue in spring. The scale-like leaves remain bluish-green throughout the winter. The flowers are not ornamentally significant. It produces powder blue berries from late spring to late winter.

Iowa Juniper is a multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with a distinctive and refined pyramidal form. It lends an extremely fine and delicate texture to the landscape composition which can make it a great accent feature on this basis alone.
