A smaller relative of Joe Pye weed, native to Eastern North America. This selection features strong upright stems of outstanding burgundy leaves for exciting foliage all season. Blooms over many weeks in fall with modest flat-topped snow-white terminal clusters. A valuable butterfly nectar source. Well suited to lightly shaded perennial borders or use as a filler in mixed borders and foundation planting. Herbaceous perennial.

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Remove old flowers to prolong flowering. Cut back to the ground at the end of the season.
