Max Frei Cranesbill has masses of beautiful fuchsia flowers with white eyes at the ends of the stems from late spring to mid summer, which are most effective when planted in groupings. Its deeply cut lobed palmate leaves are dark green in color. As an added bonus, the foliage turns a gorgeous red in the fall. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.

This is a relatively low maintenance plant, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics.. Max Frei Cranesbill is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers.
