Dutchman’s Pipe features unusual light green tubular flowers along the branches in mid spring. It has dark green deciduous foliage. The heart-shaped leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color. It is a dense multi-stemmed deciduous woody vine with a twining and trailing habit of growth. Its strikingly bold and coarse texture can be very effective in a balanced landscape composition. This woody vine will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed.
