Edda Clematis features showy violet star-shaped flowers with royal blue overtones and red stripes at the ends of the stems from late spring to late summer. Its compound leaves remain green in color throughout the season.
Edda Clematis is an herbaceous perennial vine with a twining and trailing habit of growth. Its medium texture blends into the garden, but can always be balanced by a couple of finer or coarser plants for an effective composition.
This is a relatively low maintenance plant. It is a Type 3 clematis; each spring it should be pruned back to within a few inches of the ground, as it flowers on new wood of the season. It is a good choice for attracting hummingbirds to your yard.
