Chionodoxa are deer resistant and easy to grow in full sun to partial shade. They should be planted before the first hard frost in your area in well-drained soil. When planting in drifts in the lawn wait at least 6 weeks after flowers bloom to mow the lawn. This is one of the few flower bulbs that does well under walnut trees.
